DBCF’s Board is made up of dedicated community members who believe in the DBCF’s mission. Their donation of time and voluntary effort provides us direction for growth. Please note that all Board members are unpaid. However, the roles are quite rewarding.
Lew Herndon retired as an entrepreneur after 34 years of owning and operating a board game and jigsaw puzzle company. The company manufactured and marketed products nationally and internationally. He and his wife, Susan, have lived in Diamond Bar for over 40 years and raised a family of 6 children. After retiring, Lew was appointed to the Diamond Bar Parks and Recreation Commission of which he is still a member. He also coached the Diamond Ranch Baseball Team for 6 years. He played baseball in high school and still plays softball at the recreational level on 4 different teams.
Mahendra was a Professional Electrical Engineer registered in state of California. He is now retired as of December 2009. He has worked in different capacities for approximately 40 years (20 years in Private Sector & 20 years in Public Sector). In Public Sector he has coordinated with City Council and Planning Commission in City of Anaheim on Capital Projects and policy matters. He is a strong believer in Community service. As a result, he is now serving in the Diamond Bar Community Foundation, Volunteering in Friends of Library Organization and serving his neighborhood as a captain of Neighborhood Watch program.
Mrs. Roberto is a long-time member and past President and Chairperson of the Diamond Bar Community Foundation. She dedicates much of her spare time to furthering the foundation’s mission of preserving, protecting, and enhancing the quality of life in Diamond Bar by establishing programs that address the cultural, recreational, and social needs of residents.
Alison Meyers creates and organizes the presentation of the Youth Master Plan to the Diamond Bar City Council and to Pomona and Walnut Valley Unified School Districts for adoption. She helps to build relationships between the City, Walnut Valley Unified School district and Pomona Unified School Dsitrict to build and foster the growth of the Youth Master Plan collaborative and Youth Development model. She works on the grants for the Parks and Recreation for the city of Diamond Bar.
Peter Pirritano has owned the Pirritano Insurance Agency, a Farmers Insurance Agency, for 30 years offering insurance to personal and business clients. His offices are at 2440 S Hacienda Blvd, Hacienda Heights, CA. He has earned the designation of Elite Commercial Agent and is ranked in the top 10% in the company.
Peter and his wife Carolyn have been residents of Diamond Bar for past 12 years. He is President of the Vantage Homeowners Association, President of the Rotary Club of Walnut Valley 2012-2013, a member of the Diamond Bar Community Foundation, the San Gabriel Chamber of Commerce and the Industry Manufacturers Council. He is also a sponsor of the annual “Golfing fore the Kids”.
STUART POMPEL was a founding instructor of Pacific Crest in 1993, and has served as its Executive Director since 1996. During his tenure, he has led the growth of the organization from a small performing group to a nationally recognized arts education organization, and a member of the Drum Corps International World Class.
In addition to fundraising, donor relations, board cultivation, and program development, Stuart has nurtured relationships between Pacific Crest and community and corporate leaders, and has developed endorsement agreements and partnerships with leaders in the music industry. He is active in Drum Corps International governance, having served on the DCI-Pacific Advisory Board since 1999, as its president from 2005 – 2010, and on the DCI Finance Committee and Audit Committee.
Stuart holds a BA in Social Sciences and a teaching credential from Chapman University in Orange, California. He lives in Placentia California with his wife, Ann, and two daughters, Maya and Tahlia.
She is the office manager of the Pirritano Insurance Agency in Hacienda Heights. Shes very active within her Homeowners Association in Diamond Bar. She has been a resident of Diamond Bar for 14 years.
Carolyn A. Corrao
She has been with waste management for many years. Carolyn started recycling programs for other cities. She is very active in public affairs for waste management.
Naila is a real estate broker with BNA Brokerage.
Surendra is a business owner.
Gil is a local Realtor®.
Steve is a Diamond Bar City Councilman.
Andrew S. Wong represents leading domestic and international companies in the financial, technology, oil and gas, food and beverage, manufacturing and transportation industries in a variety of commercial litigation and employment law matters. He also has been a Diamond Bar resident for many years.
